Picked up the 2303WCLi last month--nice for an economy machine. No negatives to date. My intent is to max it out at 2GB of RAM. Info from the OEM on type of RAM is not absolutely clear. My question is does this machine take both PC2100 & PC2700 RAM? My intent would be to go with the faster 2700.
    thanks in advance, KDM

There shouldn't be any problems running PC2700 memory in a unit that originally had PC2100 memory. If the system can utilize the extra bandwidth the memory has, then it will, if not, it'll just operate at PC2100 speeds. Although, a user on this site did upgrade his unit (not this model) with additional memory, but turned out to be incompatible with the module already in the unit. I believe it has something to do with the CAS level being different. Just make sure the memory you will be using has similar overall specs (other than the speed). Also, try getting the ram from a dealer that allows returns (full refund policy) so if it doesn't work, you don't lose the money for the memory.

Hi, I have this notebook and it comes with PC2700 from the factory...at least mine did. I upgraded with a Kingmax 256 module from Newegg... http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-155-108&depa=0 Works Great!
