Could someone with a Travelmate 250 series laptop run and post a CPU-Z screenshot?.
I'm trying to find if these laptops mounted Desktop Intel Pentium 4 or Mobile Intel Pentium 4 (not Mobile Intel Pentium 4-M).

I upgraded a Travelmate 240 with a Desktop Pentium 4 3,06Ghz 533Mhz 512Kb, and although BIOS recognizes it i'm having problems with Windows XP (freezes just started), neither launches an Ubuntu LiveCD.
In F8 Secure mode, runs fine.

Original cpu is a Desktop Celeron with 61,6W TDP.
    Acer CPU FRU List includes:

    Pentium 4 3,06Ghz 1.53V

Desktop 3,06Ghz processor has 81,8W TDP, 69ºC of Thermal Specification
Mobile 3,06Ghz processor has 70W TDP, 100ºC of Thermal Specification

Could be a thermal issue?, as desktop processor has a 81,8W TDP.

    Regards.

Finally after some research I've found that 250 series had either desktop and mobile Pentium 4 processors:

    Intel Pentium 4 400Mhz 512KB L2 cache
Mobile Pentium 4 533Mhz 512K L2 cache with Enhanced Intel Speedstep technology.

For some reason laptop is only compatible with 533FSB processors with Enhanced Speedstep technology.
On the other hand, I bought SL6VB 2,2Ghz Mobile Pentium 4 400Mhz without EIST that runs fine, but with multiplier locked at 12. (both battery and AC)

Mobile Intel Pentium 4 400Mhz with EIST will perform at its rated frequency?.
