Well I'm using the notebook right now, waiting for a blue screen. None so far with a single 1 gig stick. I tested both stick's by themselves no errors, as soon as I use both i get bsods left and right.
Both are Pny 667 1 gig sticks, But i was cheap and since i had a stick already, i snagged another off Ebay. I guess they weren't well matched.

I'm going to test both slots and make sure there's no errors. So i guess it's a lesson not to be to cheap and just buy in pairs.
One more thing i might try is to lower the shared video memory, i noticed that some programs are reporting to much memory allocated to video.

    READ: http://reviews.ebay.com/Myth-Low-Density-vs-High-Density-memory-modules_W0QQugidZ10000000001236178

    Check the densities of both SODIMM's that you're putting in. I've noticed that some chipsets/motherboards don't like it when you've mixed different density SODIMM's (i.e. 1GB 128Mx4 & a 1GB 64Mx8).

According to Crucial, the TravelMate 2450 supports high-density SODIMM's (128Mx4) so either use both high-density SODIMM's or both "normal" density SODIMM's. Mixing rated DDR2 speeds shouldn't be an issue.

If all else fails, check for BIOS updates.

    Cheers,
    Kermee

I think you got me on the right track. The modules match after taking a look at the spd , there exactly the same and both are low density. Do you think it's possible that the board can't correctly handle 4 ranks on the 2 sticks? Maybe the answer is i need 2 high density sticks. I'll have to look into it more. It would explain why it seems hit and miss when upgrading to 2gigs on the 2450.
