Hi, i´m new here and i came across this board because i´m desperate with this issue, so i have a TM291Lci and it didnt gave me any troubles so far, i bought it almost a year ago,

but this last week it started to have problems with the Liteon AC adaptor which was provided with the laptop which was failing to charge the battery so i tried to move the cable and seemed that it was ok again but after that the battery icon appeared again on the screen, i thought that maybe it was too hot so i decided to unplug the AC adaptor for a while.

The following days happened the same thing and the green light was giving short signals with beeps as well, afterwards the AC adaptor wasnt charging in any way,

the first thing i thought was that i had to get a new AC adaptor so i called to the ACER service but i didnt get any response, i dont know in other places but here in Spain is awful,

then i started to search in local retailers but all of them told me to contact ACER again or things like "sorry but we have to ask for it and maybe it will be quite expensive", i dont have time to waste on this so i thought to buy a universal laptop AC adaptor with the correct speifics which are 120 W,19 V, and 3,46 A.

I found a store in my town where they got one of this, so i bought the thing for 60 Euros, i arrived home and i tried it, at first it looked like it was working fine but after 10 minutes the adaptor made a noise and got burned, i was shocked , i took it quickly to the store quite angry, i asked to the retailer why this happened and that i wanted my money back.

He said that maybe i had a power problem with the laptop that was consuming more energy than it needed so that probably caused an overload that burned the AC Adaptor, i have to say that he offered me kindly to check the laptop and try to fix it.

So my question is, what do you guys should do in my case?

Sorry if it´s too long but i´m looking for help

    Thanks in advance
