Hey guys, my travelmate 4200 is at the edge of it :)

Had mouse/music, output in general lag for 2 days when Hard drive was stressed/working (loading programs, coping stuff, etc). Plus usual loading of programs took like triple time - loading Word for like 25seconds. Temperature is normal - ~54 cpu and 40-45 harddrive.

I checked HD with windows chkdsk - no bad sectors.

Then Windows xp corrupted with bsod saying that some registry part is missing or not writable.

Loaded off the knoppix live cd - no lag.

The only thing i've replaced was the factory memory module with mushkin 1gb stick, that was a year ago.

Did that happened to any1 here, could you guys give me some ideas as to what to replace or what the problem is?

    Thanks in advance!

Also look at disk SMART status and verify that HDD is not in PIO mode.
