I have an Acer Travelmate 4400 that will NOT connect to my home wireless network. I am a novice computer user, and have currently connected 2 Desktop computers to the network. but this laptop is really giving me fits.
I have a Dialup Card that inserts into the side of the laptop, as well as a "Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter", a "Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC", and a "1394 Net Adapter".
The Dailup card works fine, but I have it removed, as I am trying to connect to the home network.
The Realtek card says that it is "unplugged".
The Broadcom card says that it's "not connected".
I cannot detect my wireless network, as the monitor says there is no network in range (laptop is sitting right next to my desktop).
I've disabled them all, re-enabled then one at a time, still no dice. Drivers are up to date on all as well.
I have entered my auth key for the network, but it's not even letting me see the network to attempt to connect to it.

For the wireless router, do you have SSID broadcasting enabled?
