    Travelmate 4500 Display Issue?

    My friend is having problems with a hand me down Acer Travelmate 4500 with an ATI 9700.

    It's hard to explain the problems so here's a couple images.

    Those are actual screen shots, not pictures of the screen. The problem persists on external monitors. But pressing on the casing and physically propping the notebook up seems to temporarily address the problem. Of course, just moving it around brings on the above symptoms.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi,
    just two days ago the same things occured on my Acer TM 4501 WLMi,
    which has as well ati graphics 9700 64MB,
    laptop was bought in dublin in december 2004
    I don't have time to figure it out whats wrong with it now, but soon when time is right Im going to use a screwdriver... and will post here what I did
