    Travelmate 5614-is this a lemon?

    Purchased Dec 2006. To date back to Acer 8 times. Repairs include 4 motherboards and 4 hard drives.

    I would love to know if this is common for other acer users.

    It wasn't common for me with any one of my 2 acers. I have had absolutely no problems with either one of them (knock on wood).

    Is yours a lemon... well it depends on the what the lemon laws say where you live but 4 motherboards and 4 harddrives sounds like a bit too much.

    I've been through much worse, trust me.

    If you have many problems with it that cannot seem to be resolved, request a replacement unit from Acer. This however only works while the laptop is still under warranty, and provided you have enough problems with the machine.
