    Hey guys

I have an Acer Travelmate 5720 with an Ati Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT which I connected via DVI to my Acer AL2216W (22" widescreen, 1680x1050). This definitely works, and the quality of the screen/picture (how to say in English?) is okay but it's still better when I connect the monitor to my old pc.

Is there a way to improve the quality? Like to make the signal stronger? I installed the newest driver via Mobility Modder.

    1. give us please details about your "old pc" (video card, cable and port used to connect monitor,OS)
    2. have you tried to connect 22" LCD through VGA port on your laptop instead of HDMI port?
    3. have you tried different frequency of refresh rates and different resolution for each type of connection?
    4. how you would describe differences between pictures produced by laptop and your old pc (picture is more clear, bright, etc)

I guess answers to this questions may help others to recommend a solution for you.

    Here we go:

    1. I used DVI with ATI Radeon X800 GTO, OS is XP Home, Laptop runs on Vista
    2. Yes, quality is as expected worse
    3. Yes, no significant changes
    4. I especially noticed the difference surfing, reading newspaper articles etc. The letters from the picture from the laptop are a lot more blurry and not as clear as from the pc. Also the picture in generel looks less brilliant, although the difference ist almost not noticeable when watching movies.

    Thanks for the interest!
