    Hi All

Im am thinking of purchasing a travelmate 7720g for my wife. She will use it almost exclusively for photoshop cs3 and illustrator.

    My question is:
Does anyone have real world experience with the CrystalBrite screen on the 7720g. I know it is only 1440*900 and that is fine. I am only interested in the actual quality of the image it produces. I havr read 2 reviews and 1 said the quality and brightness was amazing and the other 1 said that the quality was "below average" so I am looking for opinions from others.

Also I do not have a choice between matte and glossy so please dont go there....again.....he he he

The only possible other choice I have at this time is the HP COMPAQ 8710P

Thanks for the help....I really need to get this right cause I cant find a shop that actually has one that I can see for myself what the screen image quality is.

    Thanks
    C

    Hi Clinton :)

I own a 7720G and I´m very pleased with its screen performance. I would not say "only" 1440*900, I think it´s the perfect resolution for this screen size (may be for graphic design it´s not enough, but that I cannot tell ).

Regarding glossy vs. matte. it´s a matter of "taste", I´m happy with my glossy reflecting screen :p

I have not tested the Hp you´ve mentioned, so it would no be serious to say a word about it .

Summing up, in my humble opinion, Acer 7720G is a really nice lappy with a really nice screen :D

Hope it helps and good luck with your purchase :)

Ps: Excuse my bad english

    Thanks for the reply Elbubi

Do you have any problems with reflections from the screen and is the screen bright enough.

    Thanks again

    Don´t mention it ;)

Reflections do vanish when using the screen at angles up from 100º, so it´s very simple to avoid them :)

The brightness, at least for me, it´s "dazzling", I generally use it at bottom steps (2/3 out of 10).

Hope it keeps helping :). Kind Regards :D

HP Compaq 8710p is much better, but price is higher, too. If you have enough money, buy 8710p without thinking :D.

    Hi WojWoda

In what way would you say the HP is better? Is the screen better than the acers?
    Thanks

Screen & build quality, more powerful hardware ;).

As you see from my signature I have Acer, I really like Acer, but 17" Acer models (both TravelMate and Aspire) are nothing special.

In general, Acer screen quality vary from model to model. I read several reviews about my model (TravelMate 5720(G)), and in some reviews screen was very good and in some below average. I had lucky and my screen is very good :D. So, with some luck you can get TM 7720G with good screen ;). It's sad that you depend from luck.
