    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone that owns a notebook in the travelmate 8000 series could tell me if the lcd casing (lid of notebook) is made of some sort of metal or plastic. From what I can see the casing of the 8000 series is very similar to the 800 series. I own a TM800Xci and it has a metal casing for the lcd. I was wondering if the 8000 had the same metal casing.

    Thanks

I believe they are the same. From the cost down point of view, it is a very reasonable that they use the same LCD casing.

The Travelmate 8000 Series is a similar unit to the Acer Ferrari series, except that it's based on the Intel Pentium M rather than the AMD64 CPU's. The casing on the Ferrari is plastic, so I'm gonna bet it's plastic for the TM8000 as well.
