I have an old set of unpowered speakers (no volume adjustment, just plug and go)... my ipod puts out more volume to the speakers than my computer does on full volume... why? I tried Windows Vista sound driver and Realteks High def driver, I've maxed all the bars in the sound control, etc.

My little battery powered iPod is pushing the volume on the speakers more than the laptop? Why why why???

Because the iPod has an amp and the TM8204 doesn't. That is, if I remember correctly.
