I have an Acer Travelmate P645-MG (i7 Haswell 4th gen)

It has the Intel Wireless-N 7260 wireless adapter.
and the Intel L218-LM LAN adapter.

Windows 8.1 64 bit Pro, clean install.

While booted and running, all hardware and functions work as they should running all of acer's supplied drivers for windows 8.1 x64- including Intel HD4400+AMD 8750 Drivers and graphics switching, works perfectly.

    Problems when attempting to sleep:

When I close the lid or press the power button (button configured to go to sleep) the system will NOT sleep. Power light stays steady and the HDD indicator flashes for a bit, and then nothing, it stays on. If I open the lid back up, the display stays off and the system will not respond. A force-shut down is required, booting back up reports no errors and runs perfectly.

I went into the bios and have narrowed it down to this:
as long as I have both Wifi and/or wired LAN enabled, the system's sleep mode willl NOT work correctly. If I turn both of those devices off, it will sleep/wake perfectly (including hybrid sleep and hibernation.)

If I enable both LAN and WLAN in the bios, boot up, then disable Intel Lan and intel wlan in the device manager, the system will also sleep perfectly fine.

I have tried finding the latest drivers and manually installing them for both WLAN and LAN hardware, windows accepts the drivers, they work while I am booted and running without any issues, but even with the latest drivers direct from intel, windows 8.1 will NOT sleep with those two devices enabled.

I've reverted back to the Acer supplied drivers and still no luck, I have to disable LAN and WLAN in device manager if I want to be able to close the lid and sleep instead of shutting down.

I would love to be able to run the latest version of windows, it's a bummer that it's not working correctly. Intel states that both of these devices are 100% Windows 8.1 64bit compatible. Could it be an issue with my PCIE or something else?
