How long is a piece of string?

Depends what you want, can you post a slightly less vague question?

Would you mind giving us the specs and price of both machines? You could also complete out FAQ. Thanks.

Well on quick impression I'd say that the 2493 is "better" (assuming money is no object) because it has a faster processor, a larger screen (and widescreen to boot) double the hard drive and everything else mostly the same.

However again, depends entirely on what you want and what you need.

    FSB is front side bus

I agree. If price isnt an issue, the 2493 is better.

Oh - Tech specs are important but just more important is the usability level you want to have - have you seen both notebooks? Are the screens glossy - what do you like more? The Travelmate is positioned as a business notebook - the Aspire is positioned as a multimedia notebook. Are you sure the Travelmate has the widescreen panel? I heard that the Travelmate ist build more stable. For my use the stability of my notebook is enough. On the other way i do not carry it around for the most time!
The 15" Notebook is normaly a little bit smaller!
So we do not know for what purpose you need the notebook. There is also the 5500 series with a 14". That notebook is even smaller. So take your time and buy what you really want :).
