Hi, guys. I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I recently tried to format my TravelMate 3280 because the Windows had gotten very slow. However, during the recovery process, when the dvd is copying the files to the C: partition, the dvd suddenly stops and a message appears saying "Fail in reading or creating the file". I have tried like 10 times with 2 other backup recovery dvds that I had made as a precaution but it's the same result every time. Silly and careless that I am, I then tried to install Windows XP using its cd, thinking that I can just get the drivers from Acer website. I didn't know that I had another option which was the Disc-to-Disc Recovery. Then the Windows installation couldn't continue either for some reason and when I tried to do it again it just wouldn't boot from the cd anymore. So now I'm completely clueless as to what option I have and what I should or can do next. Recovery DVDs are not working, recovery partition is out the window (enabling it in BIOS and pressing Alt+F10 achieved nothing), and Windows CD can't do anything either. I have read many solutions but all of them only say how I can recover the hidden partition if I still have and can access Windows. Let me just thank you all in advance for your attention and assistance.
