Hello everyone, I will make this short. I have a Acer Aspire 5920(not5920G) and it runs the Phoenix Trusted Core BIOS technology system. I have 3Gb of ram, and potential 358MB video memory card. I CANNOT CHANGE THE VIDEO MEMORY OPTION IN THE BIOS! IT IS IN BRACKETS SO I >>>>>CAN<<<<< CHANGE IT, BUT IT IS GREYED OUT AND NOT BLACK LIKE THE OTHER OPTIONS! PLEASE HELP ME OUT ANYONE![]()

It is most likely locked out from modification by Acer. Short of flashing it with another BIOS, you will not be able to change the video memory option in the BIOS. That said, if you want to adjust the amount of system memory your GPU has access to, you can do so in your graphics driver settings.

how do I access those settings?

Mr. Whitman. Hi, I am new here with a new Acer myself. I have the same Intel chipset as you going from the sound of your description with the 358MB video memory and I also notice in BIOS that it is set at 8MB and no way to play with it.
Anyway, if its that your worried its only using 8MB and you want it to use the 358MB then I can show you something I noticed later that confirms that the laptop is indeed using up to 358MB of RAM. Go to Control Panel and in the Classic View click on Intel GMA Driver for Mobile icon. Then click on the Information button at the bottom of that window. In there it tells you 8MB is the minimum, and 358MB is Max. It shows you what you are currently using. If you open an application and click that Intel window and look, you will see the video memory will change as need be.
A little bit of peace of mind.
P.S., you may also have the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver icon next to the clock. Click on that and go to Properties, its the same thing then.
Also I have not been able to see anything in the display settings to change the video memory on this laptop. Its not like the nVidia or ATI settings that are more advanced I suppose. -

Ah, I hadn't realized that the graphics in the Aspire 5920 were Intel based. Nilst is correct that you won't be able to adjust the shared video memory. Apologies on my part for not realizing this.
Trusted Core BIOS problem.
