    Hello,

I have an acer aspire 5536g notebook, which runs too noisy (fan's minimal speed is too high). Fan speed increases with temperature growth.

Laptop runs on last bios from acer site: Phoenix Bios 1.11

I'm trying to reduce fan speed on low temperatures, but i can't find thermal tables.

At this time i can change fan speed in RW Everything:
In embedded control window, offset [0x93] can be changed from 04 (automatic, default) to 14 (manual fan control). On manual mode, fan speed can be assigned in offset [0x94], in range between FF (fan OFF) and 00 (fan MAX).

    Here's it's speeds in automatic mode: FF, 9E, 90, 7B, 72...

Also, offset [0x91] can be changed from 00 to 06 (04 default) - which seems to change to different thermal table, it changes speed and temperature on which fan will turn on.

By default, fan starts to spin on 45 or 46 degrees Celsius, which shown in offset [0xA8].

Tried to search through DSDT by keywords Emdedded, Fan; searched speed values, offsets; found something, but not thermal table.

Where thermal table can be found?

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks to this thread, i found thermal and fan speed tables.

They can be found in KBC firmware, which is 128kb file (HOLE0.ROM for my bios). KBC firmware is inside the BIOS file.

Opened bios file(JV50_111.wph) with Phoenixtool, and in DUMP folder found HOLE0.ROM. Then i modified it(did't forget about checksum). Lowered fan speeds on appropriate fan speed table. Then built bios with modified HOLE0.ROM and flashed bios.

    Fan works silent now! :)
