I have installed a clean version of Windows 7 on my Acer 6530G and installed the drivers provided on the Acer site, but after setting 5.1 audio in the settings and ran the test, there is no sound coming out of the Subwoofer.

I don't have any Acer software anymore, only because there are none to download on the Acer site apart from the launch manager.

Does anyone know what I need to do in order to get the subwoofer to work?

Tried getting the empower framework to install in order to use the launch button for it, but keep getting an error message about 'no supported operating system'!?

    Thank you

Have you tried installing the Realtek drivers from the website. These may get the subwoofer to work. If they don't install normally you may have to install them in vista compatibility mode.

Keep in mind that the Tuba isn't supposed to make noise during the subwoofer test - the test produces noise below what the Tuba can do.
Heck, don't even think of it as a subwoofer, it's more of a low-to-mid-end booster than anything.

Try the original Vista drivers that your machine came with (Vista drivers will work happily in 7), then locate the Internal Subwoofer volume level in your Speakers option window. Play a song, then monkey around with the level. If the song sounds good when the Internal Subwoofer's at 100 and like tinny earbuds at 0, your Tuba is working.

And please search the forums before posting a new thread about this - it's been discussed many times before.
