Hi everybody I hope someone can help me with this.
My laptop is an Acer 5520, CPU is an AMD Turion 64/X2 Mobile TL-56, 1.80 GHz.
My trouble is that the cpu won't scale frequency under 1600MHz when AC powered, as I can see using any utility (e.g. AMD Power Monitor). On battery, its frequency scales down to 800 MHz.
Now I want lower frequency (and lower voltage) also on AC: the core temperature is 10°C cooler... At least when an 'energy saver' profile in on. I tried messing with Vista performance profiles and ePower Management but nothing changes :(
    Thanks!

Ok I think I solved this on my own ;)

You have to open the advanced power management in Vista, then edit the active profile's options about the processor's power saving, lowering the mininum performance level...

    Now my cpu always scales to 800 MHz / 0.8 V :)
