    Ok, so i bought this 8930 with p8400 core 2 duo,GF 9600M GT, 4gb ddr3.

    Ran 3dMark with 1280 x XX AA 0... 5100 points???

Isn't that a bit low? I thought the points should be somewhere 5500-6500. My NVIDIA drivers are currently 180.70, maybe i should change those? What about Vista 32bit? Never had a vista before, is there something i should turn off/disable/remove in order to make my computer faster? For now i've only removed some of the useless software that came with the computer and changed the firewall McAfee to Comodo.

That battery usage was on "best performance"

The score is good but you can get a bit more. You can adjust the driver settings in Nvidia control panel, pick settings for best performance and make sure you remove any AA or AF. Also if I were you, I would format the whole partition of the drive that has the OS and reinstall vista again as I did with my laptop. Before formatting I had around 70 processes running (at least) and after reinstallation and a bit of tweaking only 40-43 processes. You can see the difference in performance in vista and games. Acer, as every other brand, are installing annoying 3rd party applications that you probably never use or applications that vista has alternatives anyway and are running along with the Acer's. No point for me.
I didn't run any benchmarks to prove that, but that's my feeling. Then when you run the 3dmark make sure you turn off your antivirus (it will save you 20-30 points max). Of course you can try different drivers, believe me some of them make a huge difference (especially when you try beta versions). I am using the 178.24 and they are pretty good. The new ones 180.84 I think they are supposed to be even better.

I believe the HDX 18t uses DDR 2 memory though.

The score is very low. Something is wrong with your settings. 2225 you can get with an overclocked 8400M GT I think. Check if your power settings are for maximum performance and if you have upgraded to the latest drivers. You can upgrade through the nvidia website now :) . Also you can check if your AA and AF are turned off in case you have them maxed out. It is a good practice to run the 3dmark after a fresh restart of the windows.

Yeah I did that. Everything you mention I did I am really concerned about this computer. I called ACER and they told me there was nothing they could do. I was really dissapointed with the technical service department. They told me to call Newegg and see if they could help me out because the 8930g wasn't showing up on the pan-am internet site.

Well I figured it out. Since I am new to laptops I didn't realize the Acer power management could affect the CPU speed and the graphics power mode both of which were set to low.

So I set these to maximum and I am now getting 5702 in 3Dmarks.

But I am concerned about the ram in my computer because it is showing only 800Mhz FSB in the system details and it is supposed to be 1066Mhz FSB.
