The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. Just some things that came into my head earlier today that I'd like your opinions/info on.

    1. When did Acer's designs stop sucking? I mean, at one point it seemed that every TravelMate and Aspire was a grey-and-black by-the-book notebook. Now all the Aspires are Gemstone, blue or otherwise, the TravelMates are classy black, and even the Extensas look nice. When did it all go right?

    2. With the wealth of knowledge available here on NBR's Acer forum - far and away more than any publicly-viewable Acer website - do you think it's time for an Acer wiki? And if so, would you be willing to help out with content, editing, and such?

Acer is a progressive company. As weird as it may sound now (you should have seen this forum a year ago), people were slaying Acer left, right and center.

Us old Acer believers have given nothing but positive input and advice to help Acer achieve it's goals.

In turn, with the NBR Acer forums no nonsense/cut the crap/you fiddled - not Acers fault etc. attitude Acer is no longer perceived to be inferior product it once was.

Acer build very good machines that are best bang for buck. And they sell a ****house load of them worldwide.

To answer your first question: BMW is helping design some of the new Acer's looks now. Nice cars and classy laptops go together. Very well.

Watch Acer.... They are getting their complete act together.

    Cheers,
    Theo

Good to know Acer's a laptop company on the up-swing.
So, no verdict on whether an Acer Wiki is needed yet?
