Dunno which post to reply to..
But he cud upgrade to the 256MB card in that ATI family....presumably the X800 maybe..or downgrade to the 64MB X600 or stay with the 128MB X700
(thats what i get for ur laptop)..if the whole video card thing is dedicated and can be removed....because the laptop does show up with a 256MB dedicated card....so he cud give it a try or look for the gpu or the motherboard itself with the code (LB)MB.AA501.001....although a bit more info about the notebook mite help....!!

it has a 128mb ati x700, 2gb ram , a turion processor,hes tasken it to a shop
any help/advice very much appriciated , thanks -
if u get a cheap x800 go for it....or else stick to the x700....!!
-
where can you buy them ? are they easy to fit ?
-
nope....they are not at all easy to buy....U ll have to hunt for them....
the registered spare parts dealers will demand an arm and a leg for it....
ebay is ur only hope....i fear that it ll be hard for u to even get a cheap X700....
although if the X800 is almost same as the X700....it shud fit easily....!!
