You would have thought Id check that the USB was working when I bought this 5720 last week...but been to busy till now LOL..
Now I plug in my USB Mass storage Device...and in Device Manager I get the exclamation mark in "Other Devices" and in there is an error message:
" This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver."
Now it so happens I have (rather we have) another 5720(G model) and it recognises the USB memory stick and other USB devices no problem at all...we are both running vista home premium and running with latest bios 1.21.
What the ?! Anyone help ...or have I got to take it backkkkkk ?!
Cheers

OK the answer ...is delete all USB Root Hub's seen in device manager...reboot....and then vista reinstalls all the USB Drivers..and Im now working...who knows why it wasnt working out of the box !
Cheers -
I would uninstall the USB controller from the Device Manager and let it reinstall upon boot up.
but before I would do that, go into your BIOS and ensure that it`s got support properly turned on. is your unit USB 1? 1.1? or 2.0?
bearing in mind your other post and the mess up caused by the Intel chipset driver update you tried, perhaps your USB got messed. -
Camvan thx for posting..u might be right..about that intel driver screwing other things up..even though it was a display driver update..could be !
Cheers
