    Hi,

I'm trying to install the synaptics 14.0.6.0 touchpad drivers for my 5920g. However, when I run the setup it always fails saying that it can't find the specified file.

I downloaded the driver countless times, but nothing is happening. I follow the usual steps (uninstall, reboot, install). It's really bugging me as I am still on the 10.0.15 & this should be a piece of cake, right?!

A few more clues would help, but general thoughts:

Sure you downloaded the right OS version of the file ?
    Sure you have that touchpad?
Running installer file as right-click run as admin?
    Run in safe mode?
If the driver installer is unpacking the file ok then update driver in device manager using "I have disk" and browse to the .inf file?
If not try roll back option on current driver.
If not find the synaptics driver files using driver tab and rename them (reversibly in case it still doesn't work) then restart

Unload (disable but dont restart) the current driver before running installer
