    Hi all,

I've recently upgraded my 5315, more ram, put in a t7500, and i had to get a new hdd as mine screwed up. Basically a system rebuild in a sense.

All has been well until today, i've just been looking under the device manager and i've got an unknown device: Location 1 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus).

Now i've googled this and all i can seem to find are downloads for xp (i'm running vista home basic), namely Microsoft (UAA) High Definition audio bus driver. I'm downloading it as we speak but i don't think it will work.

Has anyone got any idea's, and what has caused this. When i reinstalled everything i downloaded all the drivers etc from the acer website. I've gone back on there after seeing this problem but can't find anything that will solve my problem.

I've also done the usual update driver etc in the device properties section but this did nothing. Same with windows update.

any help would be great, thanks.

i have exactly the same issue with the 8290G after a fresh install.

have no idea what it is - im guessing its the modem as this is the only device i could not get to install.

    anyone?

Try to (re)install the modem drivers. Get 'em from here.

I've sorted it out. First i did the update driver, re-install driver etc but it wouldn't work. So i deleted the device and then scanned for new hardware, hey presto it's now saying it's a modem. I then tried the Vista SP 1 driver as i have SP1 but didn't work so used the pre sp1 driver and hey presto.

good to see you got it sorted out.... that HD AUDIO & MODEM combo can be such a pain in butt to get installed correctly....

the easy way to get it right is to install the REALTEK sound driver before any other driver.... reboot and install all other drivers, saving the MODEM driver till last and manually install its driver by selecting the location of the driver.
