    Hi all!

I recently bought a 5671 with 1 GB of RAM (1 1 GB module). I'd like to upgrade the memory to 2 GB. Do I have to buy a module exactly like the one in the computer (make/model#), to run dual channel, or can I use any make of RAM?

Just get a stick that is the same size and speed to ensure compatibility.

www.newegg.com is a good place to start looking.

One thing to note is that if your system came with 1GB of memory it may have come with matching 1GB sticks instead of a single slot of memory! If this is the case you'll need to purchase 2 sticks instead of 1 b/c then you will only have 1.5 instead of 2 gigs of memory when you are done.

Like I wrote, it's 1 1 GB module. It's by a company called nanya. I can't seem to find any nanya vendors here in Denmark. But you think that I could just use any 1 GB stick?

Ooop, I missed that. Just get a module with the same specs then and you will be fine.
