Good morning I am new to this board and am having a bit of a problem with acer 2303 CI

I am writting for a friend of mine who has an Acer travel mate 2303 which she bought just a year ago.
when she is working on the battery she has no problem, as soon as she plug her computer in it takes approx. 5 min. then a small cascade of windows opens up and it says : around the frame of the widow it is written Acer, then there is a red X and it says un specified error , and then there is an o. no matter what you try to do nothing works it last about 2 minutes and then you are back to you desktop. If you are not doing anything on the computer and you don't touch it at all it still does this about every 5 min. can this damage her computer and how in the world can you fix something when it says unspecified error. This should be a challenge to you experts for sure I think. Thank you again. Have any of you ever had this problem? how did you resolve it. Thanks again

i'm thinking the same thing as coriolis. must be some program she installed is conflicting with something else. especially if this was not happening before.

Thank you for your replies I also wrote to Acer and you guys were right they gave me as an aswer that her screensaver which was acer's was most likely corrupted. Just change the screen saver and everything should be ok. All is good. Thank you for your input greatly appreciated.

I had a similar encounter. I'm working on a friend's Acer 5672WLMi and it seemed as though it would randomly start into multiple 'unspecified error' dialog boxes, filling up the screen. Thanks to this post, this one was an easy troubleshoot, it was the Acer screensaver.

Change the screensaver to anything else other than Acer's or Travelmate's and the problem is solved.

I have had this problem for about a year. I am not using a screensaver so that is not the answer for me. Any other ideas?
