Hello all - thanks for your time. I'm looking at two laptops...the ACER Aspire 6930G and the Acer Aspire 5920G.

I'm a complete newb when it domes to hardware (as you can see by my title undernath my username :))...the 6930G has a 'nVidia GeForce 9300M GS 256mb' Card, where as the 5920G has an 'ATi Mobility Radeon HD3470 256mb' card. Sadly the only difference I know between the two cards is that they come from different companies....I don't really know anything.

Which one is the better card, and does anybody know the price difference between the two cards (£ UK Pounds preferably, but I can find a currency exchanger somewhere online if it's easier for you guys.)

The price difference between the two laptops themselves is small. The 6930G has a slightly faster processor and costs slightly more. If there is not much difference between the two cards I'll just buy the 6930G.

I want a card that will be able to run fairly modern games (Primarly 'C&C3' and 'Oblivion' (Elder Scrolls - with an updated graphics mod) Etc).
I'm not after anything top of the range, just so it can run the games fairly smoothly.

One final question - although I understand that this is probably the wrong forum for this...

Will either of these laptops be able to run both 'Cubase' (Steinberg) and 'Reason'(Propellerhead) - (latest versions of both) at the same time? (i.e importing sounds from Reason into Cubase).

Thanks VERY much for your help to all of you. It is HIGHLY appreciated.

idk about a price difference, but id say performance wise, the HD3470 will be slightly better than the 9300, but not by a huge amount since both are low end cards, but they should still be able to play those newer games at low settings.

JohnLewis doesn't have it listed online anymore for some reason.
    You could try calling them.

    Although, www.simplyacer.com has 5930G.

It costs £578.78 (never did cost £500).
Has virtually all of the latest specs for a very affordable price and will be able to run latest games (if you don't push it too much because we are still talking about mobile gpu's and not desktop ones).

I have that machine and it's VERY nice.
    :)
