I have Acer Aspire 5315 and was running Bios v1.33. It has been running warm for sometime and thought an updated BIOS would help.
I tried the ACER site but didn't see any BIOS updates listed for XP. I have XP Pro on it now.
I followed a different link and found BIOS 1.45 so i Flashed it using WinFlash.
After it completed it shut down, i waited a couple of min. and powered back up, when i did i saw the BSOD for about 2 seconds and then goes to selective startup (Normal, Safe, Safe w/networking etc...)
I have not tried safe mode yet but in normal it just goes back to that screen again.
I saw the thread on using the FN+ESC mode but not sure if i really need to do that.
Any suggestions on what I should do to restore it back to 1.33? I have to check my external HD but i think i still have that 1.33 version saved that i used when i did it the first time.
Thanks

It's an AHCI problem. Go into BIOS and change the setting for HDD access to none AHCI.
