Have an Acer Aspire E12-571-6482. Came with Windows 7. Free upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Microsoft online. Got some files corrupted so had to reinstall from HD partition and lost files. etc.( save files would not work, got to 99% and system hung up) Re install put Win 7 back on Laptop. Is there any way to get back to Windows 8.1 without paying MS? I did download my files etc to a Toshiba portable HD Canvio Connect before I did the reinstall.
Just another fact, I purchased Acer recovery disks from their store but was not able to get them to work then found out about the partition on my HD.
