    Hi all,

I have an Acer Aspire 6930g and want to upgrade its CPU, but I don't really know it enough to know what CPU to choose from. So far the "Fastest" cpu I can find right now is a P8600 2.4ghz, when I am using a T5800 2.0ghz. Are there any better ones I can get right now that is compatible? Thanks

Hello david, and welcome to the forums!
The 6930G uses the PM45 chipset, and as a result can use any Socket P Core 2 Duo. The absolute fastest CPU you can put in is the Core 2 Duo T9900 at 3.06 GHz; the next steps down are the T9800 at 2.93 GHz and T9600 at 2.8.

I'm looking at T9800 2.93 GHZ atm. Is the step up significant enough to warrant about 250 spent? Thanks

    I went from a 1.83 to 2.40 for roughly $200 - I'd say that's a darn good deal.
