    Hi Guys,

    I have an Acer Aspire 5002 with 256 MB DDR1 Ram (333Mhz).

    I recently bought a 1GB DDR1 Ram (PC3200-400 Mhz), since I could not get my hands on a 333Mhz.

But my laptop does not seem to recongnize the new RAM once I plug it in the additional slot.

Can someone out there help me out in this. THANKS.

Does the laptop boot at all with the 1GB installed? What exactly happens? Can you get into the BIOS and check how much RAM is installed?

I had this exact machine and I had no problems adding 1GB of RAM.

Also can you check which BIOS version you are running. I may remember seeing a BIOS update that fixes issues when adding 1GB of RAM to the Aspire 5002.

I am not sure if the computer boots, cause the Screen is blank but the hard disk seems to be running and since the screen is blank I am not able to access the BIOS.

And, What is the BIOS Update version i will need to install???

    Thanks.
