Hi, i'm wondering if i should upgrade the Bios to Aces Aspire 5102 WLMI. My current Bios is 2.73 (because that notebook was in Acer Support), and i notticed that on Acer site there is a newer version - 2.83. So can anybody say something about this Bios. Is he that buggy as 2.72 or he is good ? Say something ....thx.

If your notebook is working properly, then there shouldn't be a need to update the BIOS. Acer should have listed what changes/alterations and fixes have been made int eh new BIOS, and if you don't encounter any of those, then a BIOS update isn't going to affect anything.

I just found the release comments:
<SYS BIOS>
01. Fix cold boot MDP too long in WinXP.
02. Fix Atheros WLAN connection problem.
<SYS BIOS>
01. Fix system hang up at 1Ah when attach Atheros WLAN.
<SYS BIOS>
01. Fix UMA VRAM setting incorrect.
<SYS BIOS>
01. The boot menu only can detect one usb device when plug two or greater than two different type usb devices.
02. Report correct PNPID for Japan K/B.
03. Add Brand ID Support for AMD Sempron 3800+
<EC BIOS>
01. Numlock of External keyboard function.
So they fixed a lot - keep in mind every Bios flash is dangerous !
Upgrade bios - or not upgrade ??
