So I was looking at this laptop for something cheap for now.

Divorce forces me to give my Fujitsu to the wife. I need something to use temporarily.(Plus gives me an excuse to get new toy) For the price, it looks pretty good.

Question is, can I upgrade the processor to a Cetrino? I've Googled it, but can't find any info. Also tech spechs say hard drive is upgradeable to 60GB, I would assume you can put a larger hard drive than that in there, right?

Centrino is just a sticker manufacturers use to sell laptops. It simply means a computer has a mobile pentium chip, an intel wireless card and motherboard.

The hard drive can be upgraded to anything you want--as long as it is the right interface. I would stay FAR FAR away from TigerDirect, I have only heard bad things about them. If you are looking for a notebook, consider filling out the FAQ in the "What notebook should I buy" forum--we can help find something suitable.

dude, think logically. that piece of crap costs $400.

You want to sink $300-400 in a processor, $150 in a hard drive, and probably need at least another $100-200 in memory?

I just bought a Compaq Presario 6130 from Fry's for $850. It's dual core, 1gb, 120 gb sata, built-in microphone (for Skype chatting with the ladies on Match.com), lightscribe dvd, etc...

Why would you put $900-1000 and your time into that thing?
