PHAILED?this is the part where my doubtness grew by a hundred-fold.

Unless you have your resolution set around 800*600 (which is plain stupid to do so just to have all settings on high) I doubt your regular average mid-end GPU 8600m gt could do that, even after overclocking)

    I know. I have one.

You don need to worry about for an update of the bios for the Santa Rosa's refresh (Penryn), as acer has already done this for the acer aspire 5720 with the latest release of the bios V1.21,

You almost hit the hammer on the head.

    1024x768.

But even with all settings on high, I leave AA and AF shut off, and texture on medium.

And yes, it does continually run above 30+FPS, even at the last boss.

So yes, my "regular mid-end GPU" can play Crysis, and exceedingly well, YOU might just have to learn how to update your drivers.

And also, yes, I am 100% serious about Call of Duty 4. That game runs like a dream, even on max settings.

EDIT: And thanks for the response, Camvan. I'll go get the 2.2GHz one. :D

EDIT2: Placed an order for an 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 from Newegg. :D Will let you all know the diff. in 3dmark scores for those who don't want to spend an extra hundred bucks for the .2 extra GHz.

Wow, strange... at the time, 169.09 was the latest driver, so please enlighten me a better driver at the time (currently using 169.28)

What's more, I had my GPU overclocked @ 611/1300/511 all the time, my reso's at 1024*640 (even lower), I had everything at medium except for shader and post processing which are at high, and can sometimes barely scrape pass 20 (please don't count those FPS in small building areas)

So now, you're telling me, that a 8600m gt GDDR2 can perform what a desktop 8600 GT barely can?

I have both games, and i don't deny COD4 runs really well, but Crysis? Unless you can include pics, I don't think I can believe that.

I'd bet you'd like to enlighten us on how to run Crysis on 30FPS with all settings high cept for texture on 1024*768 reso. It would do us 8600m GT users so much good

quick question here, but what BIOS version do you need to have to run the mobile Penryn CPU's when they come out? just want to ensure that my BIOS is upto snuff, so when they are released, I can consider it as an upgrade solution :)

also a question, aside from the 8600M GT DDR3 model, what other GPU upgrade options do we have in the MXM2 form factor? I understand the cooler would be an issue...but are the 8700M GT's in MXM2 form factor and can they be used, or is their TDP too high?

Question Guys, where can I download an updated Bios for the 5920G that is sold at Best Buy? I get nowhere looking at Acer's US site. Does it have to have a utility to install? Any help would be great. Where do you go to get nVidia drivers also?

    1. You can get the drivers from laptopvideo2go.com.
    2. First Download a driver (169.09 or 169.28 work pretty well.)
    3. Then download the modded .INF file for that driver.
    4. Extract the contents of the driver's zip file into a folder.
    5. Then place the modded .INF file into the folder where you extracted the driver. A message will come up.
    6. Click "Move and Replace."
    7. Finally, double click the Setup.exe file in the driver folder. The driver should install now.

You should see a pretty good increase in performance compared to the stock drivers.
