Hey folks! Just updated to Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. Everything seems to be working fantastic! But it seems the audio driver isn't right, as the sub isn't working and there's no mention of it in the Sound settings. The driver Acer supplies on their website for the Acer Aspire 6920 with Windows Vista Premium x32 also lacks this.
Where can I download the appropriate driver? Thanks.

The Generic realtek drivers never support the internal subwoofer.

Any acer driver should - on windows 7 the subwoofer level control appears in Control panel, sound, playback, speakers, properties, levels.

I'll see if I can't find a few Acer downloads and give them a go then. I'll post back with the results. Still haven't tried the webcam- I think my searches showed that the webcam might be an issue with the upgrade. Is this so, and is there a resolution?
    Thanks.

The built-in webcams should work out of the box, mine did.

The 5942g Driver.. to get it, go to Acer.com, notebooks, aspire, 5942g, then for OS, Windows 7 Ultimate 32? Or is the driver under a different OS?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it for W7Ultimate.

The problem is, before I updated to 7, I went to Acer's site and downloaded the driver for the 6920 - Win Vista Home Premium x32, and there was no subwoofer support for it, so I had to revert the driver. I'll give the 5942g driver a go though, wish me luck. :p

Just thinking the 5942 is 64bit . . not sure what you have. May work anyway but I can categorically state it has a tuba and the Subwoofer slider under W7 :)

I have 32 bit, I'll give it a go though. And if that dosen't work, I'll see if the 6920G driver works.

You'll need a 32-bit version of the audio driver - the 5942G should still have a 32-bit version of the driver on Acer's download page of course.
I personally use the original stock driver that came with my 6920G - Windows 7 will happily use Vista drivers, although you may need to run the setup program in with compatibility modes enabled.

Thanks for the excellent suggestions folks! The 5942g 32 bit driver did the trick. I checked the webcam as well and it's fine. Everything's 100%! Thanks again!
