Does anyone know of a .exe file or, is there something I am missing to get my new Acer to recognize a new HDD to be installed? I got the HDD about 4 months ago and, had it in my DeLL. I bought this Acer about 3 weeks ago and want to put that 7200 RPM HDD in it.
My Window base score is a 5.7 because of the 5400 RPM HDD that came with it. I was told by Acer support to use this iso file- DiskFormatDT_V1-1D . But it failed to work. I have been emailing Acer support for the past 3 hours and, the keep telling me it will go out of warranty. I am not worried about that.
I have a 1GB Radeon HD 5650 Graphics card, i5 520M processor and, I feel the 5400 RPM HDD is like have a 4 cylinder engiine in a Muscle car.

So you've installed the drive already and it's not being recognized? Is it recognized in the BIOS? The DiskFormat iso file is used to do a simple format on a new drive... many other tools out there that accomplish the same thing... but if you already used the drive in a dell you shouldn't need to...
