Hi guys...sorry for the 'noob' question, but I just ordered 2GB of Crucial Memory (2x 1GB Modules), for my 5102Wlmi.

I've changed tons of Memory Modules in Desktops, but never in a Laptop.

Could someone with this model give me some basic step by step instructions?
(The manual sure doesn't tell you much).

    1. Where are they located (Under one of the back covers?)

    2. I'm scared to death of breaking a 'clip' off. (If that's what they use)
I haven't even looked yet, but how do they clip in?
Are they clips similar to Desktop machines, where you push them back and the Module pops out?

    3. Do they push in pretty easy, or do they require a fair amount of force?

    4. Last but not least, after the new Modules are in place, will it boot into windows (XP) and be automatically recognized, or will it instead prompt you to enter setup and change the setting there?

    Anything else I should know?

Thanks a lot for any info that may be useful....I know this is really simple for most of you, but having never done it before, the last thing I want to do is break something and render my machine useless.

    Thanks again!

1 Remove the battery and power adapter
2 flip laptop remove screw to memory compartment and cpu on that model
3 push on clip on side memory it will left up and back
4 slide in new memory on angle and push down down it will clip make sure key in ram line uped

5 put cover back on battery in and power up you might want to check new memory with ram checking program

On that model laptop i think they is one cover that cover cpu ram and most of case it soft snap out

    Thanks andyasselin...sounds easy enough.

So, is there just one clip?
Or are there two (one on each side of Module), like on a desktop.

Sorry to be a pain...I'm sure when I take the cover off I'll figure it out.

I'm just not going to bother opening it up until I get the Ram.

    Thanks again.
