:acer: :amd64: :glossy:Hi fellas I have a 100gb harddrive that only runs at 4200rpm and would like out swap it out for a 5200rpm, is it possible? and could i do it myself? I have a 5021wlmi, if i can what's the likely cost? I live in southern Ireland so it's going to be euro prices (probably expensive) and also what sort of size's are available? 60gb minimum would be preferable but 80gb to 100gb ideal. I'm a gamer and would lke better load times etc cheer's![]()

Not hard, look around for them.
As of now, 60gb is the largest 7200rpm HD for laptops, although the 100gb version IS avaliable, its quite pricey and not worth it yet.
5400rpms go up to 100gb, and 120 is the newest but like the 7k100(aka 7200 100gb) it is still rare and pricey.
Not hard to switch HD's you often just need to unscrew the cover, take the caddy off HD, put new HD in caddy put it back in and voila! A new HD! Don't forget to put the old HD in a 2.5" enclosure! -
Can you recommend a good 2.5 enclosure?
