    Hi,

buying a new Acer Ferrari 4002WLMi tomorrow. Everything looks good about it, except the 512 Mb RAM. I am a Java developer, and need at least a Gig.

So the question is... The 4002WLMi has 2 slots for RAM (correct me if I'm wrong). Does it come with 1x512Mb or 2x256 Mb ?
Is it easy to upgrade the RAM? I have some experience in hardware, but I wouldn't want to take the whole notebook apart to install extra RAM. So is there easy access to both of the memory slots?

And what would you suggest... 2x512mb, 1x1024Mb or maybe 1x256mb with 1x1024mb ?

    Thanks

P.S. and most important, will there be warranty issues if I upgrade the memory myself?

its probably two 256mb ram sticks in ur laptop so u'll have to buy two 512mb sticks to replace em fully for 1gb

if u get one 1gb stick, it'll end up costing u more.

www.crucial.com have a good guide for finding the right memory for u. Once u found out the memory u need, u can take a quick look for it on ebay or other places for the best price

I don't think upgrading your ram will void your warranty. Check with your supplier first.

I believe all manufactures allow switching of the RAM without voiding the warranty.
