Hi guys,
Don't know if anyone can help - my laptop started playing up a couple of days ago being temperamental with the DVD drive, not recognising it and then just refusing to open. It occassionally worked or recognised it but then would freeze when I tried to open it!
I've rebooted the system (losing everything stored!) to the original factory settings but this still doesn't seem to have resolved the issue.
Any advice would be gratefully received!!!
Cheers!

Have you tried to eject the drive from the laptop and then re-insert it.
This may help if the cause is poor connections between the drive and the laptop. -
Yeah, the only way I can open the drive is by using the manual eject (sticking a pin in the small hole!). It appears to have just lost the drive although the drive itself occassionally has power, its more like a recognition of the connection between the two has failed! Any suggestions?
