I have an acer travelmate laptop and i am wanting to use this as a wireless adapter for my xbox. The laptop is connected wirelessly and the xbox connected to the ethernet port. I know this is possible but i am experiencing a few problems. When i try allow other devices to connect via the laptop i get an error. When i try to bridge the connections it successfully does this but then disconnects from the net. I read into it and tried to force compatability mode on my router, but could not. I was using the following guides:

    http://www.xboxlivetheguide.co.uk/XBoxLiveTheGuide3.php?title=How do I setup Bridging

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/crawford_02april22.mspx

i am running windows vista and have a thomson bebox Speedtouch 585

i know that i can get a microsoft wireless adapter but was hoping to avoid this and i am unable to connect wired.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

    success thanks for the guide.

my understanding is the xbox has nothing to do with the wireless network your computer handles that.

This is what I did(the first guide you posted)

    1. found the 2 connections wireless and wire

    2. bridged them like described in the guide, I tried to go on the net and it did not work.

    3. I restarted the computer and it now works like a charm.
