I have an ACER 8103. Is there a way to set up a hotkey on the keyboard to enable one to press a keyboard key to go back in a browser, rather than move your touchpad pointer up to the button?

The backspace key does this by default.

Set one of the tap zones on your touchpad to go backwards on your browser.
