Is it possible to force the new UEFI bios v. 2.12 onto my machine with the 1.xx Bios? I want to take advantage of the combination of the UEFI bios and Windows 8, like faster boot times and GPT partitions.

Asked this question on the official Acer support forum and the reply i got was "version 1.xx is for windows 7, Version 2.xx is for windows 8". I dont understand this because all v3-771g's are basically the same with just different memory and hard drive configurations. Windows 7 has the option for UEFI install so the answer that 2.xx is for windows 8 doesnt fly with me! so the question still stands.... Wonder if theres a way to force it. Anyone?
