I have Acer TM 8104WLMi. 2 weeks ago, my laptop won't boot at all, so I took it to Acer Service and they replaced 1 of the RAM. It was okay at the beginning, nothing seems wrong. Then starting last week, 1 of my 4 USB slots doesn't work and then the monitor screen started to have problems too. I attached 2 pictures of my monitor when it's having the problem. There is double/triple images and lines, and it will go away if I went to display properties and apply to change something (resolution/color/whatever). Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my laptop? Is it the VGA? The LCD? I really have no clues. Thanks in advance!

I think you have a problem with VGA.BTW try to use external monitor if it give same results then try to restore your notebook.

Ok, I'll remember to plug it to another monitor the next time it happens again. :(

Nope, I never play with the refresh rate.

I tried plugging another monitor, but the other monitor doesn't show the problem, so what's wrong??? Is it the LCD or what else? What should I do???

It seems like its a problem with the LCD display. Its not anything to do with the graphics card, because otherwise, you would have had the same appearance on the external monitor. If your under warranty, then Acer should be able to fit a new LCD display.

i had a similar if not the same problem, i sent it to acer under warranty, supposedly it was a problem with the mother board and not the GFX card, acer said they replaced the motherboard. i found that problem worsened when i nudged the laptop or when it was bumped. do u get this?

Well, I never nudge or bump it when it's happening, so I don't know.

Hmm, when I was at the service center, the guy there said that the problem is 1 of the ram was broken and the ram slot (motherboard?) was too, but after a few days inspection, they only changed the ram and they said the ram slot is okay. So maybe it wasn't okay? Can a bad motherboard cause this? Mine's out of warranty, so replacing the motherboard could be quite hefty.
