How do I make the long led on the front of my Timeline work? It becomes all red only when it is charging, but if running on battery I am not managing to have it work, i.e. to have it indicate how much battery i got left...

    Thanks a lot!

Maybe it's not as simple as I thought... Is it clear what I am asking?

Hello, fellow Timeline owner, I know what you mean because I also have a Timeline notebook. How long have you been using your notebook? it seems that you have not yet observed it for a while.

The led light in front of the notebook will only light up when the notebook is plugged to an AC power, meaning, you will only see red light when it is charging or blue light when it is fully charged whether the system is on or off as long as it is plugged to an external power via the charger.

At first, I also liked the idea to have the blue light always on whenever you use the notebook whether on AC or on battery, because for me, it will add a little beauty to use the notebook with the blue light on.

but what can we do.... I like my Timeline notebook because it is very usable for me, more than what I needed it for, so, the heck with the blue light hehehe. :)

Oh...I see. I thought the light could be turned on to actually indicate how much battery you got left by 'decreasing' from right to left... Would have been cool wouldn't it? :)

But yes, I've had my Timeline for 4 days now, and--apart from the annoying presence of lots of Acer crap preinstalled--I am quite happy with it.

    Thanks a lot!

Yeah it would have been cool if the led light could actually indicate the battery level, it would really add a little beauty on the aesthetics and functions of this beautiful notebook series. Who knows, maybe Acer and other manufacturers will do think of this feature in their future products.

With the pre-installed craps, you can simply uninstall it and there are many threads here about refining and optimizing the performance of your timeline with tweaks here and there. I actually did some of the tweaks on my notebook and I'm loving it more.... :)
