I was working on an Acer laptop in which whenever I had loaded the video driver for Intel onboard graphics upon booting into normal mode it would force the unit go to directly into stand-by. If I disabled the display driver it would boot into Windows normally. I had to stop this from happening by disabling stand-by completely and it no longer occured. But I'm wondering if anyone has any idea why this would happen in the first place? I also removed the battery and hooked unit up directly to the power supply connected to the outlet.
