Well I am a bit confused , by discovering software on my ACER Hidden partition,
that it does not installed by the first run , if you do the well know erecovery.
I found in this partition , Microsoft Works ... CyberLink PowerDVD for ACER .
Another software of CyberLink about making videos .
After my first use of erecovery , to factory defaults ... Found that i had no DVD player ... found accidentally one copy of (CyberLink PowerDVD for ACER)
and got it installed .
Yesterday , I started just for fun to explore the files , of my erecovery partition,
and found lots of hidden treasures ( Way of speech ) .![]()
If you launch the erecovery from windows , and ask to restore drivers and additional software , the erecovery decompress those files , and gives you the option to install them .
The Microsoft Works ,and the CyberLink about making videos, its not visible .
You will be able to find this software only if you start to explore the folders,
after making the erecovery partition visible.
This is what i found on my old ACER , its possible at the new ones to find even more stuff.
Another place that i found hidden software was in some folders of my C:\ drive ( Yes made by ACER ) ... I found some advanced Microsoft tools, about XP diagnosis ,plus file checkers , and directory comparison tools.
Lots of interesting stuff , if you like to explore things.
All software looks legal , it can be used just by installing it .
I liked a lot the Microsoft Works , loaded with nice templates , but as far i looked there is no option for Greek spell checker , and with out it , its not that useful to me , That why i use OpenOffice .

I had all of this installed with My 5920 when I first got it. Some of it may be useful to someone but it's pretty much bloatware for a lot of others.

About bloatware , i have not see a fresh ACER to understand the term.
One DVD player , and one free well made Text editor , belong to the " Must have " if you own a laptop.
On another notice , modern ACERs use special software , about locking files or the hard drive ( Called as eLock & eSecurity ) .
I started to explore my Bios , and after setting the Supervisor password,
a lot of security options just showed up in the Bios , even to lock the hard drive with the Supervisor password , in order to be invisible if this hard drive was placed in another device so to be read .
Amazing stuff for my taste , just by the Bios settings .
My ACER never planed to run ( eLock & eSecurity )
But it still haves the ability hidden in it .
Thats why i have start to like ACER , it keeps surprising me ,
with a pleasurable manner .
Visible and Invisible ACER software !!
