    Interresting ummm...

I've been trying to get rid of Acer stuff and put a clean install on with my buddy kisetsu17 from here.

The tip for XP is to pop into the BIOS and change AHCI setting to IDE or if you have access to a PC and burner, create an AHCI enabled XP install CD.

The error may be a "quick format" problem and the data writen to disk during first phase is unreadable.

Repeat your install with a Full Format of your installation partition.

Becarefull not to delete unreadable partitions as they might be recoverable.

IF you can factory reinstall this will allow you to backup your Vista Activation and restore it to a clean install but first the nt loader error you mention will need fixing. Try Format!

    :)

    (BSOD ??? Stop)
Check BIOS settings, even allow time to cool!

    Yep, that's me he's talking about. ;)

Anyway, do you mean your PQSERVICE partition is gone too? If not then maybe you could use the Alt+F10 function of the thing..

Also, with the NTLDR thing, boot up the Vista disk and if you get to the point where you could choose "Install now..", don't click it and instead click on "Repair your Computer" or something like that.. Check if you could fix the NTLDR error with a startup repair, and if not, then get into the BIOS and check to see whether your SATA is in AHCI or IDE mode, since AHCI=Vista, IDE=XP unless you install drivers for each other's missing modes. :D
