This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Vista to XP opinions wantd..

    I made the move after realizing several games and programs just didnt run on vista, Diablo 2, Nero and Photoshop to name a few. Not many companys are willing to patch these older versions to vista hoping you'll go buy the newest one, but any NEW games or software released will likely still be XP compatible

    I plan to keep XP ( Forever )

    Vista is PRETTY but not very functional

    just my 2 cents

    You're definitely right about companies not wanting to patch older versions in hope that you might upgrade to a newer one. This is certainly the case with Photoshop.

    Also, you might get more opinions if you post this in the Windows Software board. Instead of reposting, though, simply PM a mod to have it moved.

    Check the compatibility mode, you may be able to run it that way:

    Alternatively virtualisation is a hot topic these days. Microsoft have a program called Virtual PC (current version is 2007) which is free to download from their website. If you still have an XP license you can setup a fake computer running XP from within Vista.
